On Wednesday evening, 17 of our most advanced musicians delighted their audience in a superb evening recital.

Assistant Director of Music (Head of Performance), Jonathan Beatty commented that,

"The level of technical mastery that these young musicians show never fails to amaze, and they all introduced and performed their pieces with such poise and sense of total immersion in and love for the music. As ever it was a delight to work alongside the students on incredible taxing repertoire and to share in the joyful spontaneity of their live performances."

Chris Dearmer, Director of Music agreed that the "Pupils' Recital always provides a wonderful opportunity to witness and enjoy the extraordinary talents of our solo instrumentalists, and Wednesday night was no exception; the quality of playing and singing was uniformly outstanding. Bravo to all who performed!"

Jo Doley, Head of Strings, remarked that the Pupils' Recital had been a "marvellous final recital of the year with an amazingly high standard of performance throughout - all the more impressive given it is still exam season! Huge thanks to all those who are leaving us this year, we will miss you so much, but know you will go on to dazzle others with your fabulous playing and singing. BRAVO!"

Huge thanks must go to Mr Beatty for his sterling work in accompanying the performers, both in rehearsal and on the night.

Music Department activity continues with preparations for performances at Trinity exams, Chapel services, the Commemoration Service, Founder's Day, the Year 9 Music Festival, Celebration Day and of course, the Music Tour to Paris.
