Alleyn’s alumni, parents and Year 13 students with a connection to and interest in the Film, TV and Media industries came together for a networking evening at the Lee & Thompson offices in London, as part of Alleyn’s celebration of 25 years of Film Studies at Alleyn’s on 18 October.

The event brought together journalists, actors, authors, editors, producers and designers, amongst other industry specialists, with fascinating career journeys to share and a love of storytelling and connecting people to the world around them.

Guests heard from Reno Antoniades (Tulley’s 1984), who shared some highlights of his career, including as Executive Producer for The Zone of Interest, which was selected for Official Competition at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI Prize.

Reno spoke of his experience of Alleyn’s over many years, including the friendships he forged 40 years ago and continues to enjoy today and his ongoing links to many areas of Alleyn’s life, including as an Alleyn’s parent and as the next President of the Edward Alleyn Club.

He said:

“My experience is that pupils are accepted for who they are and Alleyn's doesn’t mold children. This is a great gift of tolerance and freedom of spirit. And for anybody who works in the film and TV space, that is something that you can resonate with and appreciate.”

Thank you, Reno, and to everyone who attended, for a brilliant evening of connection. We are particularly thankful to those who spent time supporting our Year 13 students with personal insight into the breadth of possible careers in this fascinating sector.
