On Wednesday evening, the Alleyn's French department was delighted to host guest speaker, Professor in Film Studies at King's College London, Ginette Vincendeau. Professor Vincendeau gave a lecture and Q&A on Class, gender and race in the French 'comedy of ethnic integration', with a particular focus on the film 'Intouchables', and on the stardom of its lead actor, Omar Sy.

Students of A Level French and A Level Film Studies from all the SSLP schools were invited to attend. Professor Vincendeau encouraged the students to consider how difference is presented in the film and why Omar Sy has become France's favourite celebrity. Students commented on how helpful the event was to develop their critical analysis of the film for A Level.
