Congratulations to Charlie Dark MBE (Cribb’s 1989) on receiving an Honorary Doctorate from London South Bank University. Charlie was presented with the prestigious award at the Royal Festival Hall.
Charlie said he was deeply honoured by the recognition and, on his Instagram page, he said:
“Definitely a proud moment and it was beautiful to pick up my award in person. There is something beautiful about being in a roomful of young people who’ve been on an educational journey together and come out the other side and for an older soul like myself it’s a reminder of how far you’ve come since Uni days. Lots of pride, hope and determination to bring change to the world but more importantly an innocence and a thirst for life that’s infectious.”
Charlie is the founder of Run Dem Crew, an inclusive running crew which has a mission that goes far beyond running alone - it also provides mentorship, advice and support and a safe and positive environment for young people across London.
In June this year he was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the King's Birthday Honours for Services to Running and to Young People.

Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
