We were delighted to visit New York and Boston at the start of half term to connect with the global Alleyn’s community and to learn from leading institutions in North America.

In New York, Alleyn’s Chair of Governors, Laura Malkin and Head, Jane Lunnon, hosted a reunion at the Harvard Club of New York. The reunion was well attended by alumni young and old as well as by current Alleyn’s pupils and parents who were visiting the U.S. It was particularly wonderful to see Martin Yorath (Tulley’s 1976) and his wife Angie who had travelled from Chicago for the event.

In Boston, visits for members of the Alleyn’s Senior leadership Team to MIT, Harvard and Noble and Greenough School were facilitated by the Alleyn’s community and provided exciting learning and educational partnership opportunities and pathways for the future.

A dinner was also held in Beacon Hill in Boston for alumni, former parents, current parents and students. It was wonderful to see many recent alumni who are studying at leading universities in the U.S. Alumni from Brown, Yale, Harvard and Northeastern provided brilliant advice for future Alleyn’s applicants. We were also very happy to have David Saward (Tyson’s 1971) join us for the dinner. David spent 33 years as a coach and administrator at Middlebury College in Vermont and has recently been inducted into the College’s Athletics Hall of Fame.

Head Jane Lunnon said:

“It was a real joy to meet so many inspiring alumni, parents, donors, pupils and great to connect with Harvard & MIT leaders too. Coming home full of ideas and new opportunities. Thank you, America!”

Many thanks to the Alleyn’s community for being so welcoming and positive, we are already looking forward to coming back!
