2023 Field Day

Field Day is over and what a bumper edition it's been!

(We will do our very best to sum up some of the key Highlights, but as there were so many, we are sure you will understand if we miss any out!)

• All Year 7 and Year 8 had a great tech morning experience. Year 7 immersed themselves in the world of content creation, using Adobe Express to design insightful digital posters on online safety. They then elevated their sense of adventure in a Virtual Reality Exploration session. The Digital Music workshop allowed pupils to delve into electronic music genres and showcase their innate musical abilities. Finally, the Coding with BBC Microbit session offered all pupils a practical experience into the world of programming, nurturing their analytical and problem-solving skills. Year 8 had an exhilarating morning engaging with robotic mechanics, honing their coding skills, and piloting drones. The sessions were a tremendous success, showcasing the cutting-edge digital emphasis at Alleyn’s.

• Year 9 pupils engaged in a 'Make a Film in a Day' workshop. With so many excellent videos created, choosing a winner was certainly a difficult task! Congratulations ‘The Knife of the Wild West’ on winning the Oscar!

• CCF took part in kayaking at Shadwell Basin (we are hoping nobody fell in!) and took part in other outdoor activities on site at school.
• Bronze Duke of Edinburgh took part in a training walk at Headley Heath. 
• 7 pupils in Year 10 volunteered at Norwood and Brixton Food Bank.
• Year 12 participated in various trips offsite for Black History Month.
