This year, the inaugural Edward Alleyn Prize for creativity, enterprise and philanthropy was awarded to our pupil Angus.

Awarded to one pupil from each of the Dulwich Estate schools. At Alleyn’s, Pastoral Leaders selected our school's winner. Angus and his parents attended the Dulwich Estate Chair’s Reception on Wednesday 3 May at the Dulwich Picture Gallery where Dr Irene Bishop (Chair of Trustees at The Dulwich Estate) presented him with his prize.

Each pupil won a cheque for their school, which they could use to benefit the school’s community, funds could be spent on a variety of things for example planting a tree, books for the school library or a musical instrument. Each pupil also received a book token and a certificate.

The citation for the awards is as follows:

Edward Alleyn Prize Citation:

“I am a true, pleyne man. My heart and tonge must always goe together”. These are Edward Alleyn’s own words about himself, and they form the basis for the new, Edward Alleyn award, which has been generously funded by the Dulwich Estate. The Edward Alleyn Prize is awarded annually in each of the Dulwich Estate Schools, to acknowledge pupils who have, in some way this year, best embodied the finest qualities of our Founder. These qualities include: creativity, enterprise, integrity and an energetic and whole-hearted commitment to serving and improving the lives of others.  The award is therefore granted to XX, for richly demonstrating one, or several, of these qualities, during this past school year.
