Netball

On Thursday we were delighted to welcome England Roses and London Pulse Netballer Ellie Rattu to Alleyn’s to deliver coaching sessions to some of our netball squads. Ellie is in her first season as part of the England Roses full-time programme having earned her first Vitality Roses senior cap against Uganda in the October 2022 International Netball Series. Ellie is a dynamic wing defence is known for her strength in one on one contests and speed through the court.

Ellie spent time with the Year 7s, 8s and 9s working on attacking the ball, one on one situations and losing a defender to hit the circle edge whilst the seniors worked on screening as a pair in attacking situations.

It was fantastic to have Ellie lead such focused and inspirational sessions ahead of the U18 Surrey finals this Sunday, and the U14 and U13 Surrey finals next Thursday.

Hockey

The 1st XI hockey team had a great win over Eltham College on Friday evening. In a week where all the year 13’s were writing mock exams the players still arrived full of energy and fight for the big away game. With a goal on the scoreboard wishing the first minute, the team settled early and went on to dominate the rest of the game and bring home a solid 3-1 win.
