Professor Evans, who has been ranked as one of the UK’s ‘Top 75’ economic policy thinkers, spoke to Alleyn's Economics students on the free market ideas from the Austrian School of Economics, what we can learn from them and how he believes they are applicable to the past, present and future of the UK economy.

The professor analysed free market economics throughout history and how the economists English speaking countries base their knowledge on were only participators in a much larger growing group of extremist free market economists.

The students really enjoyed the lecture and it has provoked much debate in lessons. Will, in Year 13 and a member of the Economics Society, commented:

“Professor Evans’ insight was invaluable and particularly useful in understanding how broad the socio-political economic spectrum truly is.”

Professor Evans was equally enthusiastic about his visit to Alleyn’s and delivering a talk organised for the Southwark Schools Learning Partnership:

“It was wonderful to visit Alleyn's yesterday and a huge pleasure to meet so many bright and engaged young economists.”

We are very grateful to the Professor for giving up his time to share his expertise to enlighten us.
