Congratulations to Will Chapman (Dutton’s 2007) on the opening of the first Roarsome children’s clothing store on the Northcote Road in South West London in August!

The children’s clothing brand, Roarsome, which has won multiple awards including UK Kidswear Brand of the Year in 2022, includes lots of fun character designs from leopards to unicorns, dinosaurs and more, and is built on the idea of encouraging imagination, adventure and getting children outdoors so you’ll find everything from puddle suits to ski goggles and swimwear to base layers, and more!

The company’s mission is to remind everyone how great the great outdoors really is. Will told us:

“My love for the outdoors stemmed from a very young age but it was definitely fuelled by the year I spent in the army CCF camping and adventuring while at Alleyn’s.”

With a love of the outdoors in mind, Roarsome has a fantastic set of sustainability credentials which aim to help keep the great outdoors great.

The company works hard to choose fabrics, materials and processes which best protect our planet. All of the company’s snow suits, coats, swimwear, sportswear, beanies and helmet covers are made from recycled plastic bottles. The post-consumer bottles are cleaned, chopped into flake, melted into chip and then turned into yarn. Base layers and neck warmers are made from Bamboo which has eco-friendly, thermal-regulating properties as well as being breathable, hypoallergenic and antimicrobial. And all of the Roarsome zip toggles are made from silicon - a brilliant alternative to plastic which is flexible, durable, long lasting and made from sand.

The company is also working hard when considering the fulfilment of their products too to reduce environmental impact. Find out more about the company’s efforts to reduce environmental impact here.

On opening the store on the Northcote Road in August, Will said:

“As a brand born in South London, we are so excited to join this amazing community. Our mission is to help families celebrate the great outdoors. By helping to get kids outside, we can empower them to care more for their planet.”

Check out the new store and some of the amazing products in this fantastic video and pop in if you find yourself in the area!
