Congratulations to netball rising star Cassie Howard (Dutton’s 2021) on her promotion to the Leeds Rhinos Super League Squad for the 2024 season after impressing in her debut season.
Cassie has been playing for the Leeds Rhinos since 2022 after winning the England Netball U21 Netball Performance League Championship with London Pulse Pathway. She made her debut for the Rhinos in the second game of the season and played a further three times, as well as representing the University of Leeds and Leeds Athletic. Cassie is a very versatile player, playing both positions of centre and wing attack last year.
Speaking about the promotion to the Super League 12, Cassie is quoted on the Leeds Rhinos website. She said:
“I’m really happy at the opportunity to step up and to be included in the 12 this season. I enjoyed my first year at the Rhinos and I am looking forward to contributing to the team and am excited for next season and to work with a talented group of athletes.
“Being in the Super League environment last season really helped my personal development. It was good to get some game time and the step up improved by tactical awareness and game play. The strength and conditioning coaches helped me to step up to another level and working with Liana was great and she was able to share her knowledge and understanding of the game, which was really beneficial for me as a young player and helped my netball vision and ability to read a game."
Leeds Rhinos Director of Netball, Liana Leota, described Cassie as:
“tenacious and fearless and what I like is that she can attack and defend quite consistently."

Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
