After a long wait filled with anticipation, excitement, and nerves, results day is here! Year 13 students came into school today to share the big moment with their families, teachers, and friends.

We’re proud to report an outstanding set of results from this year’s students, demonstrating a diverse and well-rounded subject mix across STEM subjects, languages, humanities and the arts; a real credit to the hard work and determination of our Year 13’s, especially in light of the challenges they faced through the pandemic.

40% of exams taken were awarded an A* grade, 77% were awarded an A* or A, and 93% were awarded A*, A or B.  6 students gained four A*s, 29 received 3 A*s, and 95 students out of 156 gained at least 3A*s or A grade.

The future study paths of our leavers are many and varied, from medicine, music, psychology, and mechanical engineering to classics, history, Spanish, and German, with 80% meeting their first choice university, and 86% meeting first or second choice.

All our 13 Year 13 bursary students attained ABB or higher, with 2 receiving three A stars. The strong performance of our bursary students is also a brilliant reflection of their important role in our school community, and we look forward to continuing to expand our bursary programme in the years to come.

Head Jane Lunnon expressed her pride and excitement for this years’ cohort.

‘I am incredibly proud and awed by the achievements, spirit and creativity of our Year 13s. Their immense character and passion is reflected in excellent results across STEM, languages, the arts and humanities, with an impressive number of students receiving A* or A in a mix of subjects across those disciplines, and with two individual students being awarded a national commendation for their art portfolios alongside first class results in other subjects. I am so excited to see all the wonderful things they go on to do!'

‘This year group has shone in their ability to marry academic success with excellence and passion beyond the classroom on the sport field, the stage and out in our local community. Their achievements are a fitting testament to their resilience and hard work following the challenges of the Covid years, and bely the fact that these are the first public qualifications they have sat in exam conditions.’

Head of Upper School, Corisande Low said, ‘Alongside achieving these excellent results, these talented students have led the school with compassion and conviction. As strong role models embodying the Alleyn’s values of Respect, Opportunity, Courage, Curiosity and Kindness, they have guided younger students in all areas of school life, from the pastoral mentorship of the house system, through to a vast array of co-curricular clubs and activities.’

The results continue a long tradition of academic success at Alleyn’s, which prides itself on a holistic, progressive approach to education. Recent ISI inspection reports, published in early 2022, judged both Alleyn’s Senior and Junior Schools to be excellent in both academic and pastoral categories.
