Waterpolo

The term started well for our U14 mixed water polo team who had their first round of their Schools Water Polo League, facing local rivals Dulwich College, Eltham College and Colfe’s. The team lost one match and won two out of their three games so finished second in this round. They look forward to their second round tournament next month!

Win vs KGS in the Independent Schools Hockey Cup

The 1st XI hockey team played in a fiercely contested match vs a quality opposition from Kingston Grammar school. A really tough team to draw in round 1.

The team applied themselves really well and worked hard for each other to make goal scoring opportunities difficult for the opposition. In attack Alleyn’s showed great speed and intent and asked many questions of the KGS goal keeper. The score line stayed close through out and at 2-2 (goals by Will year 11 and Will year 12) with 8mins to play it was Will (year 12) who popped up with the winner after some outstanding build up play by the team.

The 3-2 victory will see Alleyn’s play either St George’s or Eton in the next round.

A date for the diary - Friday 3rd February at 16:45, the 1st XI will play vs Dulwich College at home in a ‘Friday Night Lights’ event which is set to be a thrilling game of hockey with incredible atmosphere. Parents and pupils of all year groups are invited to come and support and for our young hockey players to see our senior players in action. We look forward to welcoming you in a couple of weeks time. More to follow on this.
