Amongst our A level students celebrating today was Year 10 pupil Aanya who took A levels in Maths and Further Maths and came out with two A* grades!
Maths is one of Aanya’s passions, influenced in part by having mathematicians in her family, but according to Aanya her fire for the subject was ignited by taking part in Olympiad Maths at Alleyn’s.
From a self-confessed rocky Olympiad performance in Year 5, Aanya’s desire to push herself has not only resulted in top mark A levels, earlier this year she also came top of the league tables for the Hamilton Mathematical Olympiad achieving 98% (59/60) when the Gold Medal boundary was 73% (44/60).
When asked whether she has more A levels on her list for next year, Aanya said; ‘I think I’ll just stick to GCSEs next year!’ With Cambridge University in her ultimate sights we wish Aanya well on her journey through Alleyn’s – we’re not letting go of you just yet!
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
