The Fiver Challenge, with its weeks of hard work and preparation, came to a head with stalls laden with badges, bracelets, clay models, charms, bee-friendly flower seeds, marbles mazes, jars filled with sweets open to the wider school community. There was a rush of heady excitement as the rest of the school and the parents flooded the hall browsing the offerings and spending money on all the goodies. As well as sales, there were a number of games to delight the punters – balance the coin on the lemon, roll the ball through the Jubilee crown, score a goal and – possibly the favourite – throw the wet sponge, especially when Mr Severino took his turn behind the board!

This was an independent project that the children have been working towards for many weeks and their dedication, resourcefulness and sense of fun was clear for all to see. They really have done a fantastic job of coming up with original ideas, making fantastic products, marketing them and raising oodles of money for their chosen charities.  A splendid display of initiative and entrepreneurship Year 6. Huge congratulations!

Thank you to the parents who supported their ventures and the members of staff who stood still while being pelted with cold, wet sponges!
