Alleyn’s looked very different when Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952. If you were to travel back in time you would immediately notice the absence of girls and many of our current school buildings.

There were many more differences, however. For example, do you know which of our current buildings used to be called the Buttery, or where you would have studied Science before the Science block was built?

The answers to these questions and many more can be found in the new exhibition in the Reception area, which gives an insight to a very different Alleyn’s of the 1950s!
