Action on Sustainability

In January this year a group of volunteers, comprising of a cross-section of staff and pupils, met for the first time with the aim of providing impetus, coordinating and measuring the sustainable journey we are on as a school.

Since then the committee has met monthly, and the members have been working in groups outside their meetings to look at specific areas on which we can take action as a community.

These areas include our curriculum, our co-curriculum, educating and training staff and finally, but equally significantly, our infrastructure, because as a large school our actions count and our buying power will have great effect.

The committee will draft a sustainability policy and an action plan for Alleyn’s by the end of this term.
