Our first residential trip for two years has taken place this past week with Year 6 enjoying the glorious sunshine and facilities at the UKSA water sports centre at Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
The water based activities have been numerous and varied with all children rotating through a carousel. They have been dinghy sailing in pairs, floating down the River Medina on stand up paddle boards or kayaks, surfing in Sandown or taking to the high seas of the Solent on small yachts. As if that hasn’t been enough, every evening, a full programme of activities has taken place including crabbing, archery, water polo and the “egg drop”. Having that time together, facing exciting challenges and having fun has given them all a fabulous opportunity to learn about themselves. The children returned to school exhausted but triumphant after a really fabulous week.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
