On Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 June, Year 10 geographers braved the wind, rain and thankfully enjoyed some sun on a Geography fieldtrip to the River Tillingbourne which runs along the south side of the North Downs and joins the River Wey at Guildford.
The pupils collected data on how a river’s characteristics change as you go downstream. On their return to school, they set to work analysing their results.
Head of Geography, Miss Low, said:
“Through teaching in both the classroom and in the field, we strive to develop in our pupils a passion for our very diverse and amazing planet and equip them with the skills required to understand the complex interactions between people and the environment.
“These trips are so important in helping students to better understand more conceptual processes and, after so much time that trips haven’t been possible due to Covid-19 restrictions, we’re so excited to be able to do them again!”
We are delighted to announce the opening of Alleyn’s Regent’s Park and Alleyn’s Hampstead, from September 2025. These will be the first schools to join the Alleyn’s Schools Group. Learn more here.
