Lucky Year 10 Drama pupils were given a fantastic virtual masterclass in Acting for Camera and Preparing for a Role with stage and screen actor, playwright and director Manjinder Virk. GCSE Drama pupils were both engaged and inspired by Manjinder’s advice for transferring skills from stage to screen and rehearsal techniques to create character, which she followed up with a Q&A session, all of which will surely inform the monologue work they are currently working on.
Manjinder has an impressive CV, having appeared in numerous television shows including Holby City, The Bill and Call the Midwife, starred in the BAFTA-winning two-part drama Britz, and written acclaimed plays and films, two of which she also directed. What greater inspiration could drama students hope for?
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
