The 1st XI hockey team had a convincing win over Caterham at home in round two of the National cup. An 8-0 victory means the team progress into round three where they have drawn Trinity School which is bound to be a competitive and challenging match next week. A reminder to all parents and pupils to come along and support the 1st XI on Friday 3rd February, so do make a note in the diary for the ‘Friday Night Light’ match vs Dulwich College which starts at 16:45 at home.

The U15 cup team travelled to Trinity School on Thursday to play in a fast, closely contested match. An epic battle on display with both teams playing some exciting hockey and the scores sitting locked at 2-2 with 7mins to play. Alleyn’s made superb progress through the game and had some classy moment of play with two really well worked moves which almost resulted in an opportunity to go ahead with minutes on the clock. Unfortunately Trinity caught Alleyn’s on the break and grabbed the winner with only a few minutes to play. Overall a solid outing for the team, with great potential being shown by all.

Wednesday afternoon saw four senior netball teams take on Trinity in some thrilling and exciting games. It was brilliant to have so many girls representing the school and to have the year 11s back from mocks. The week has also seen the U13As travel to St Edmunds in Ware for a national plate game, the U14s play Putney at home and the U15s play a friendly against JAGs.

Basketball had an eventful week. It started with a trip to watch London Lions play Gran Canaria at the Copper box. Where two of our pupils got on the court to compete in a shooting challenge. On Wednesday our U15’s played a tightly contested game vs Dulwich College which ended in a 1-point loss. The U18’s played their LISBA cup semi-final against John Fisher. It was a very close game in which Alleyn’s suffered a 2-point loss.
