The first day of December saw over 200 of Alleyn's musicians come together in the MCT@Alleyn's to present the much-anticipated Christmas Concert 2022.

'What a treat to hear so many ensembles perform so superbly in the Christmas Concert. Each performance, be it the large forces involved in Sinfonietta through to the Clarinet Ensemble, rose to the occasion, embraced their chance to perform and thrilled the audience in equal measure. Marvellous! Congratulations all!' enthused Ms Jo Doley, Head of Strings

The evening involved performances from ten different ensembles, three of whom were led by Mr Ned Bennett, Head of Wind and Brass who observed that it had been 'wonderful to see so many pupils involved in this concert! Amazing how much the occasion of a concert raises the level of music-making from final rehearsals. I’m proud of everyone who took part.'

Mr Dearmer, Director of Music summed up the feeling of all who attend, commenting the 'last night's Christmas Concert was a joyous occasion, a positive festive feast of musical treats. From the moving opening of Sinfonietta's Themes from Scheherazade, through to the funk of No.10 Party Band, the rock of Soul Choir and Rocckestra's joint rendition of Free Bird, the captivating Latin Mambo of Swing Doctors, and so much else in between, there truly was something for everyone.'

Congratulations to all performers, who left us feeling well and truly in the Christmas spirit.
