Early this term in April all Year 7 and 8 pupils concentrated very hard for an intensive hour of figuring out mathematics problems in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Junior Maths Challenge.

Today, thirty pupils who qualified took part in the UKMT Junior Kangaroo which is a is a 60-minute, multiple-choice Challenge consisting of 25 problems.

We also had seven pupils who qualified for UKMT Junior Olympiad which is a two-hour Challenge consisting of 16 problems. Only 1200 students are selected to take part at this level nation-wide so these students have done very well to qualify. The top-scoring 25% of participants will receive a Certificate of Distinction, the next top 40% will receive a Certificate of Merit.

Wishing all those taking part the best of luck!
