The Lent term Field Day was another bumper day, full of activities, visitors, talks and even a rocket launch!

Many of the year groups left for the day to various corners of London and beyond for their Field Day experiences. Year 9s went on art trips to the Tate Museum and Hayward Gallery, on an eco-trip to the Science Museum to see the Antarctica documentary at the Imax and to a private screening of Romeo and Juliet at the East Dulwich Picture, followed by a track day at the Herne Hill Velodrome.

Year 10 volunteering groups built sleep pods for a homeless charity whilst Year 11s volunteered on-site helping pupils from Dog Kennel Hill Primary School on a Science Day project to build and launch rockets in the school field. Also on the field -  though fortunately not at the same time as the rocket launch - a Year 11 CCF Cadre ran through mock exercises as part of a full day of classroom and outdoor activities.

Careers Day was packed with useful activities for our Upper School students. They talked to visitors from an array of professional fields at the Careers Café and attended workshops and interviews to help them prepare for their future careers. Thank you to the Careers Office for an insightful programme of events.

Further afield, Year 7s went to Rochester for a geography trip while Year 8s went to Hampton Court for a hands-on history day. Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh groups went overnight to the New Forest for their Bronze qualifying expedition whilst Year 10 CCF went to Mereworth for overnight exercises. Both trips were lucky to have some glorious spring weather.

We acknowledge all the work by the teachers and staff who helped put together this truly educational and fun-packed day for all – it was a  great way to get out of the classroom and stretch both our bodies and minds before rolling into the weekend.
