Many thanks to Alice Moxley (Tigers & Roper's 2009) who returned to the Junior School to give our termly Alumni Assembly on Thursday 10 March. Alice is the founder and CEO of Pivot, who empower people experiencing homelessness through enterprise. Alice explained how Pivot work with 'makers' in hostels to create jewellery. The products are designed so that they can be made in hostels, bringing part-time, flexible employment opportunities to those who find it more difficult to access it.

Alice was named in Points of Light, a recognition by the Prime Minister of outstanding individual volunteers – people who are making a change in their community. Read what the Prime Minister says about Alice here. She was also recently named in Natwest’s Top 100 WISE (Women In Social Enterprise) list of 2022.

A Junior School alumna herself, Alice captivated her young audience by telling them all about how after starting a career in Architecture she discovered purpose in founding her social enterprise. Alice also described how ‘naughty’ and chatty she was at school and said her favourite club was the After School Chocolate Science Club!

To read more about Pivot or to buy some of the brilliant jewellery please visit - https://www.makepivot.org/

With every piece of jewellery bought taking the makers one step closer to their goal of leaving the hostel, your purchase will not only look good but make you feel good too.
