On Wednesday 3 March, pupils, parents and friends arrived in the Lower School Atrium for the private view of the Year 8 art exhibition ‘Surrealism’. The show coincides with the new exhibition at Tate Modern ‘Surrealism Beyond Borders’ which showcases works from all over the world inspired by and connected to the Surrealism movement.

Year 8 pupils produced incredible paintings, drawings and 3D works which captured the subversive and dreamlike qualities of Surrealism, an impressive array of thoughts and ideas come to life. Paintings drew us into strange spaces and oversized objects and food from our everyday lives made us look at what is familiar with fresh perspectives.

We encourage everyone to go and take a look at the incredible talents and the lively imagination of our Lower School pupils.
