On Tuesday 16 November, the PE & Games department launched the School’s latest, ambitious outreach programme, The Alleyn’s Academy.
The initiative is a passion project for Director of Sport Mr English and aims to provide opportunities to break down barriers to access and enable social mobility through sport. The Alleyn's Academy team welcomed over 100 pupils and their parents from local primary schools, coming together for an action-packed and fun-filled evening of sporting action.
The Academy will run every Tuesday evening for the whole year, providing year 4 and 5 children with a premium experience across a wide range of sporting activities. There will be opportunities to work with local organisations and individuals from the world of elite sport and for everyone involved to experiences magic moments and create lasting memories along the way.
Alleyn’s staff and pupil volunteers will lead the sessions but if any members of the Alleyn’s community would like to contribute either with their own expertise or with any contacts in the world of sport, Mr English would love to hear from you and can be reached at [email protected].
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
