The Alleyn’s Lower School enjoyed an action-packed few days away together, pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones, bonding with their peers and celebrating the end of exams.

Each year, Year 7 pupils enjoy this popular trip before the summer holidays begin but, due to COVID-19 restrictions preventing last year’s Year 7s from the chance of a trip away, this June Year 7 and Year 8 pupils all had the chance to get away in their separate year groups to have some fun, spend time together, try something new and make memories.

Year 7 pupils visited Mount Cook and Year 8s went to Buxton for a trip they won’t forget anytime soon. From abseiling and bushcraft activities, to caving and archery, there was something fun for everyone to try. The trips were both rounded off with a day at Alton Towers theme park to test our thrill seekers' nerves and stomachs!

Pupils all agreed the trips were a fantastic break after a busy and challenging year.

Elizabeth in Year 8 said: “It helped me grow as an individual, expanding my comfort zone and making me try activities that I never would have considered me capable of.”

Milo in Year 8 said: “It was a lovely break away from School after exams. I loved caving especially, but the whole trip was very fun. If the trip had been longer it would have been perfect!”

Heather in Year 8 added: “I really enjoyed having fun with people in my dorm and I was able to have fun with people in my class who I wouldn’t have before. Caving as very fun too as we got to explore interesting new areas and learn about it. Buxton was definitely the highlight of my year!”

More photos from the two trips are available for parents and pupils to see on the Hub.
