Es Devlin, who is known for creating large-scale performative sculptures and environments that fuse music, language and light, talked to Alleyn's Art students about her work, education and creative route into set and stage designing.
She is a leading figure in the design world and just some of her projects are Mirrormaze at Copeland Park, Peckham 2016; The Singing Tree at the V&A 2017; Room 2022 at Miami Art Basel 2017; and EGG at the XI Gallery in New York 2018.
Her stage sculptures include collaborations with Beyoncé, Kanye West, U2, The Weeknd, Adele, The Royal Opera House, The National Theatre and the London and Rio Olympic Ceremonies.
Much of Es Devlin’s work is on her website and her most current work is at Somerset House.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
