The Triumph Design Awards, run by Triumph Motorcycles in Hinckley, is a national design and engineering competition aimed at aspiring design engineers. Initially, the award was open only to A level students to submit their projects which offered solutions to real world problems.

Since Triumph allowed entries from Year 11 students too, the final shortlist has usually been made up exclusively of A level students so Felix has already done extremely well to be shortlisted as a Year 11 pupil.

Felix's, who said his inspiration for his project was to give teenagers independence in travel, will be interviewed by some of Triumph’s Design engineers to discuss the project and answer some related questions.

The final will be during the evening of 1 July, and there are prizes awarded for Innovation, Impact on Society, the Committee prize, and the overall winner will receive a cash prize and a much-coveted work placement in the Design Engineering Department at Triumph.
