To draw attention to Mental Health Awareness Week, between 10-16 May and the theme this year of ‘connecting with nature’, all Senior School pupils are being encouraged to get outside and get snapping and submit their best photo of nature to an Alleyn’s Mental Health Awareness Week Photo Competition.

Research shows that spending time in nature is good for our mental health – helping us feel better in mind and body. In a year that has challenged us in ways nobody could have imagined, where our movements and our time outdoors have been compromised, the benefits of being outdoors in nature are more important than ever. Nature, fresh air and being outdoors have been shown to uplift our emotions, help us feel connected to the Earth and to feel real happiness.

We hope pupils all find a moment to look up and out and around them this week and are inspired to take a photo of the natural world.

We look forward to seeing your entries!
