Alleyn’s pupils have chosen Blueprint for All as one of the two charities the School will be supporting this year and decided that today, the anniversary of the murder of Stephen Lawrence, should be Own Clothes Day to mark this date and raise funds for our charities.

A main aim of Blueprint for All is to help disadvantaged young people, primarily of minority ethnic backgrounds, to achieve their goals and to enter professions that they might not otherwise have felt equipped to apply for. In this sense the charity shares a common goal with Sparrow Schools in South Africa, which Alleyn’s continues to support as our international charity.

Pupils and teachers reflected the important work of Blueprint for All by coming to school in a costume reflecting the career they aspired to when they were small or that they aspire to now. They embraced the cause and we saw a variety of careers, including a large number of footballers!
