Neil Green, Housemaster of Tyson’s and master in charge of girls and boys water polo, has chosen items of Alleyn’s water polo kit. Neil explains: ‘water polo has been an integral part of the co-curricular programme at Alleyn’s for many decades. In 1980 Alleyn’s were crowned as national champions which has been complimented in recent years by successive national championship titles in 2007, 2010 and 2012. Both boys and girls across all year groups and within eight School teams compete with pride wearing their Alleyn’s School water polo caps. An interesting point to note is that the Mikasa water polo ball (pictured) which is used by our pupils for their School matches is the same ball that will be used at the London 2012 Olympics; it is estimated that over 700 of these balls will be used throughout this summer’s Olympic Games.’
