Physics technician, Andreas Tober, has nominated the oversized picnic bench in the Lower School playground. He explains:
‘It was designed by Martina von Holn (free-lance theatre designer) and built by the maintenance team for the Lower School play 2007-08, produced and directed by Vivienne Penglase. The play A Load of Rubbish was about things which are thrown away when there is still use for them, so instead of ending up in a skip when the play ended, it was modified to be used in the playground where it has been ever since, thanks to its solid and durable construction.’

The photos show the play’s cast (now in Years 11 and 12) during rehearsals, performance and at its official handing over in September 2008.
