Former Headmaster, Dr Colin Diggory, has nominated the preserved sod of turf which was 'turned' by Dr Diggory, along with the then Chief Executive of the National Youth Theatre, Sid Higgins, former Headmaster, Dr Colin Niven, and Raymond Cousins, the chairman of Governors at the time. The ceremony was carried out on Founder's Day in 2006 and signalled the start of the major construction project to build the Michael Croft Theatre within the School grounds. The theatre, and the Edward Alleyn Building in which it is housed, was completed in 2008 and officially opened in March 2009.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
