Congratulations go to Milo, Ned, Caspian and Leo as they have won the regional heat in the National Science Quiz run by Quiz Club.

They all worked very hard as a team and used tactics such as 50/50 and elimination to achieve an amazing score of 2080 out of 40 questions. Some questions were worth 20, 40, 80 and even 100 points with the final 10 questions each worth 80 or 100 points.

They were neck and neck with another school for most of the quiz, and took the lead in the final 3 questions. It was a nail-biting experience for teachers and parents in the audience! The questions were exceptionally difficult and far beyond the Year 5 and Year 6 curriculum. Questions such as identifying an okapi, convex lenses in magnifying glasses and describing an isotope are just a few of the questions they answered.

Our second team also worked well and achieved 5th place out of 7 teams in total. An excellent result all around and we’re very proud to announce that one of our teams is straight through to the semi-finals.
