Year 5 enjoyed ‘Africa Day’ which enriched their humanities topic of ‘Africa’. They began the day by designing and making African tribal masks with Mrs Dewar, which are on display in the Exhibition Area. Then each class was fortunate enough to have two workshops over the course of the day; one was drumming and the other dancing. These were led by Semeke and Gaspard, who led their classes with such energy and enthusiasm. The children learnt traditional drumming and dancing styles from The Gambia and The Ivory Coast, and then performed these to the rest of the school in the afternoon.
