BSGA London Regionals

Last Tuesday, Alleyn’s School played host to an exciting day of gymnastics, in partnership with the British Schools Gymnastics Milano Qualifying Competition and the Floor and Vault qualifying competition for mixed teams and boys. The event saw around 50 young gymnasts from various schools competing for a chance to secure a spot in the National Finals. 

Alleyn’s School entered three talented teams in the competition, each representing different age groups and categories. The teams were: 

• Milano U13 Mixed: Patrick, Sasha, and Olivia 

• Milano U16 Mixed: Hughie, Rosa, and Martha 

• Floor and Vault U14 Mixed: Patrick, Hughie, Sasha, Olivia, and Alice 

A special mention goes to Alice, a junior gymnast, who stepped up to assist the senior athletes with impressive skill and poise. Her dedication and teamwork played a vital role in the team’s success. 

After an intense series of performances, Alleyn’s emerged victorious in all three categories, claiming gold medals across the board and earning a coveted spot in the National Finals. This outstanding achievement came after fierce competition from schools such as Thomas’s Battersea, Coopers Coborn, and Grey Court, all of whom put up a strong challenge. 

The National Finals are set to take place at Fenton Manor, Stoke-on-Trent, with two opportunities for Alleyn’s athletes to showcase their talent: March 7th/8th and May 3rd/4th. 

Congratulations to all the gymnasts who competed, and a huge well done to the teams for their fantastic performances! All eyes will now be on Alleyn’s as they prepare for the National Finals, where they will be up against some of the best gymnasts from across the country.
