The celebrated musicians of the Aquinas Piano Trio and friends delivered a superb performance at the second of this season’s Dulwich Concert Series at Alleyn's events. Known for their interpretive instinct and captivating performances, the trio's programme included Schubert’s Piano Quintet in A major 'The Trout', in which they were joined by Rebecca Low (viola) and our very own double bass star Laurence (Y13), who fitted into the ensemble magnificently, in a performance of wit, charm and exuberance that defied his years.
Students attending the concert had also benefited from the expertise of the visiting artists in an inspiring set of masterclasses during the afternoon, which will be wonderful preparation for our annual showcase in Blackheath Halls at the end of this term, the Lord Higgins Chamber Music Concert (27th March).
The Dulwich Concert Series at Alleyn's, formerly called the Alleyn’s International Concert Series, is known for attracting world class musicians to the intimate setting at the 300-seater Alleyn’s MCT theatre. We are very much looking forward to the final performance of the season by the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble, The Swingles on 17th June.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
