We have made great progress in the last few years to make our environment greener for all and offset our carbon footprint. Working towards this, we have:
Switched to renewable gas and electricity supplies
Reduced the use of disposable cups, plates and cutlery
Removed plastic cups from the dining hall and installed more water stations
Focused the Years 9 and 11 Alleyn’s Learners programme on sustainability
Enforced 'no idling' for cars or coaches outside School
Turned the heating down
Planted more hedges on site. Since February we have planted in excess of 1,000 plants, shrubs, and trees to create a pollution barrier, help the ecosystem and improve the general environment.
Halved our levels of printing in school
Installed solar panels in the Junior School, Lower School and Science building
Installed a heat pump in the new Junior School Development.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
