Alleyn's Head, Mrs Lunnon, was invited to speak at the New York Times Climate Hub, the sustainable education event which sat alongside the more conventional COP26 activities in Glasgow in October 2021.

The panel discussed how schools should educate to reflect climate priorities and how to best prepare young people to be the problem solvers of the future.

It was a great opportunity to share ideas, learn from others and understand what kind of innovative ideas are currently taking shape in the world of sustainable education.

Read Mrs Lunnon’s blog on COP26 and watch the Think Tank Debate titled Headteachers’ Tactics: How Schools Can Prepare Their Students for a Changing Climate on the New York Times Climate Hub.

As well as Mrs Lunnon, Alleyn's was represented at COP26 by Year 12 students Suraya and Geneva as part of a prize for their submission to a national competition to find solutions on our dependence on fossil fuels. And a number of impressive Alleyn's alumni were also there as part of their work on the environment and climate protection.
