Lower School pupils wasted no time tucking into delicious cupcakes this breaktime, a lovely surprise and just one of the ways Head of Lower School, Mr Turner is saying farewell to them before starting a new post as Deputy Head at Emanuel School after the Easter.

Mr Turner Says it with Cupcakes

Arriving at Alleyn’s in September 2015, Mr Turner has been a steady and reassuring presence, not just in the Lower School but throughout Alleyn’s. In his time here Mr Turner has overseen the admission process of around 5,000 children and seen 1,000 pupils through the Lower School.

He has presided over a number of projects and initiatives, including the many Alleyn’s 400 activities for the Lower School and of course the transition from the old to the new Lower School building! He was a founder member of the Schools Inclusion Alliance and has recently been involved in diversity matters. All of this while teaching Geography, Alleyn's Learners' Programme and hockey as well as taking two school trips to Iceland!

Mr Turner said:

“It has been an enormous privilege to oversee the pastoral care, academic development and co-curricular contributions of pupils in the Lower School for five and half years. I leave the school with a multitude of proud memories of special moments from this most special of communities.”

We will all miss him very much but we know he will keep in touch!
