Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome all pupils back to school. One of the highlights of the day was our whole-school assembly, which took place in the glorious sunshine. Our head, Jane Lunnon, gave an inspirational talk on some of the summer’s highlights and gave a special warm welcome to all new pupils:

The year has started on a high, on the back of so many exciting trips for our pupils who travelled the UK and the world over the summer, proudly representing our School in Snowdonia, Exmoor, New Forest, South Downs, Paris, Holland and Germany, Cyprus and on a three-week expedition to Costa Rica. We are very proud of our pupils; delighted that they achieved the School’s best ever A level and GCSE results outside of COVID and so pleased that our Year 13 leavers are now heading off to the universities or courses of their choice, carrying, we hope, a part of Alleyn’s with them as they do so!  Far from being quiet, the school was full of life during the summer break, with our very popular Holiday Camp, music, theatre, art and sports clubs as children and young people from across the local community made good use of our facilities.

Today, we are thrilled to welcome all our new pupils to the School. Whether you are joining in Year 9 or 10 or are one of the 40 new Year 12s beginning their A level adventures with us, or you are ‘new as paint’ Year 7s, at the very start of their Senior School journey, we wish you all the very best of luck and are truly delighted to welcome you into the Alleyn’s family. We look forward to getting to know you all, to watching you get stuck in,  to seeing you explore all the clubs, sports and societies that are on offer, to getting to know each other and beginning the tremendous educational alchemy which will help shape you in the years to come.
