Activities Week: (Monday 26, June 2023 - Thursday 29 June 2023)

From Monday 26 June our Year 12 pupils embarked on an engaging and varied programme of personal development. Split into three themed activities, the students explored new horizons and developed essential skills that will benefit them in their future endeavours.

Residential Trip to Cuffley

Pupils went to Cuffley (Active Learning Centre), where they participated in a variety of group tasks aimed at enhancing their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Nestled in a 96-acre woodland, the area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and contains a wonderful range of flora and fauna. There our pupils enjoyed in orienteering,  target sports including archery and tomahawk throwing, climbing and laser tag. The Residential Trip to Cuffley provided an opportunity for the students to engage in activities that pushed them outside their comfort zones, encouraging personal growth and fostering a sense of camaraderie within the group.

Higher Education Day: Navigating the Path to University

The students dedicated time to preparing for their future academic pursuits, with a specific emphasis on the UCAS process. They engaged in informative sessions and received guidance from staff members, providing them with valuable insights into the application process and university life.

During the Higher Education Day, the pupils began working on their UCAS forms and crafting their personal statements. Through personalised attention and support, they were equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to showcase their strengths, ambitions, and potential to prospective universities.

Social Enterprise: Exploring Sustainable Business Practices

The pupils learned about the world of social enterprise and the circular economy. They visited The Remakery in Brixton (a hub for creative reuse and repair) where they exploring the principles of sustainability and the concept of B Corps.

Guided by accomplished alumnae, the pupils undertook the Founders Day Challenge. This experience allowed them to apply their creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills to come up with innovative solutions.

Activities Week not only provided the Year 12 pupils with memorable experiences but also offered them the chance to develop vital skills for their personal and academic growth.

Thanks to the dedicated staff members who organized and facilitated these enriching activities. Their commitment, guidance and support ensured that the week was filled with valuable learning experiences.
