Friday 16th June marked the last day of our first Graydin's The Journey: Advanced Coaching Course for Alleyn's staff from the Senior School, Junior School and Operational Staff. Under the guidance of Assistant Head, Rob Atkinson, participants became more effective coaches through The Journey, learning lots of new tools and strategies to apply with students, colleagues, family members and themselves. We also explored ways to embed a sustainable coaching culture at Alleyn's, helping to build our vision that a values and service-based approach to personal leadership, rooted in the School's ROCCK values, is embedded across the Alleyn's community.

The participants saw for themselves how Graydin's values-based coaching methodology can be a great tool to: empower staff and pupils to take ownership of their futures and to be the best versions of themselves, increase the quality of classroom interactions, improve the quality of student mentoring and improve pupil and staff wellbeing. As Graydin themselves say, "Whilst coaching is a set of tools that enable individuals to improve their own performance, it is also an approach to communication that creates deep connections and strong relationships".

We look forward to many more coaching courses in the future.
