On Thursday, 23 March Year 9 RAF cadets had the chance to visit RAF Odiham in Hampshire to gain an insight into life within the Royal Air Force.

RAF Odiham is a front-line support helicopter base working within the Joint Helicopter Command. The Station provides critical, rapid support for UK military operations throughout the world and is home of the UK Chinook Force.

Our Year 9 cadets had a fantastic day touring the base, seeing the Chinook hanger and sitting inside while learn more about the roles that RAF Odiham undertakes from the Flt Lt pilot.

RAF Cdt J Morrison, said:

“It was really interesting hearing about the real-life experiences of the Flt Lt career.”

RAF Cdt E Semple added:

“The mechanics and history of the chinook is extremely interesting and that it’s a team effort to fly one.”
