Remembrance Sunday provides us with a physical reminder of all those who have served and sacrificed and every year our CCF proudly parades from Alleyn’s to Christ’s Chapel in Dulwich Village for the annual Service of Remembrance.

This year, some of our cadets were also selected as the first CCF group ever to take part in the National Service of Remembrance, held at The Cenotaph in Whitehall.

The eight Alleyn’s CCF cadets (Oscar, Anna, Charu, Zoe, Xavi, Harry, Tristan and Edward) were proud to have made history by being the first group ever to line the sovereign’s steps and greet the Royal Family and VIPs in attendance at the service.

The cadets, accompanied by Major Benest and Sergeant McDonough, had to the opportunity to speak to members of the royal family, including King Charles III, Anne, Princess Royal and the Duke of Gloucester.

As Officer Commanding the Sovereign's Step Party, Major Benest had the honour of personally saluting each Royal as they arrived, including the King.

Anna in Year 13 said it was:

‘A historic moment which will stay with me all my life’.

We are proud of all our cadets for their participation on the day and bursting with pride that Alleyn’s was selected to be the first to participate in such a momentous event at the Cenotaph.
