On Monday night pupils took part in the Alleyn's String Prize Final, which was adjudicated by Hannah Dawson (pictured), violinist in the Sacconi Quartet.

"The playing at last night's String Prize Final, the first such final in person since 2018 was sensational. I am proud of all those who performed, in both the preliminary rounds, and the final, and grateful to our brilliant team of String teachers who clearly prepared them all so well. A wonderful evening of music, and testament to the very healthy state of string playing at Alleyn's."

Chris Dearmer, Director of Music

"Congratulations to our wonderful string players who took part in this week's final of the String Prize. Our adjudicator, Hannah Dawson, violinist in the Sacconi Quartet, had the unenviable task of choosing winners from the performers' universally polished and nerveless performances. She was hugely appreciative of the depth of the string playing at the school across the year groups and the musical maturity that characterised all the evening's performances. Bravi!"

Jonathan Beatty, Assistant Director of Music (Head of Performance)
