As our Head Jane Lunnon said in our podcast Alleyn’s ROCCK On; Opportunity, “A good school has to release that song” in reference to Henry David Thoreau, who once wrote, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation, and go to the grave with the song still in them.”

One way we do that is through our co-curricular offer. Year 7s had the delight of choosing their co-curricular options last week. Hosted in the Great Hall, pupils attended our annual Co-Curricular Fair where they heard from the Directors of Sport, Drama, Dance and Music, the Co-Curricular Prefects, our Head Jane Lunnon and our Assistant Head, Co-Curricular & Partnerships, Mr Neil Green. They were then let loose to talk to staff and Upper School students who run clubs and societies, positioned across 41 stalls (which only touches the surface of the 180 plus activities on offer each week).

From Film to Warhammer Gaming Club, Gardening to Debating, and the Feminist Society to the Eco Committee we hope all our pupils find a passion through one (or more) of our co-curricular activities.

“Each year we are thrilled to be able to offer so many opportunities for our pupils. We really want them to throw themselves into their school lives and get involved; have the courage and curiosity to learn new things and make friends” said Mr Green.

All co-curricular activities begin the week commencing 12 September. Read more about them here.
