Commemorating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at Alleyn’s

In 2022 The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. To mark this milestone, Alleyn’s held its very own week of celebration, from 23 to 27 May.

The week started with a whole school assembly in the quad, followed by the unveiling of the winning puddings from our Junior School’s Platinum Pudding Competition and ended with an whole school tea party on the Sports Field.

The Queen has remained a constant, stabilising presence over the last 70 years in a country which has undergone huge social, scientific, and technological change, much of which is reflected in Alleyn’s own history. To mark this once-in-a-lifetime celebration, we’ve compiled a commemorative book which includes a timeline detailing how the Alleyn’s community and campus have evolved over the last 70 years and summarises our week of celebrations.

We’d also like to take this moment to congratulate Claudia in Year 8 for her winning entry to our Jubilee ‘Say it in 70’ miniatures art competition (pictured below). Claudia has won a £70 donation to her charity of her choice: Music As Therapy, and a £10 book voucher.
